Pool Safety is your responsibility
While fencing contractors will come and install a fence around your pool, pool safety is ultimately the owner’s responsibility.
A good pool fence can give people a false sense of security. Children must never be left unattended around water.
There is a website (by QLD Government) that provides useful safety guidelines – it’s well worth checking. In addition to that, Royal Life Saving Society produced a pool safety checklist that can be downloaded form their website.
To sum up, make sure your fence complies with the regulations, is high enough, has a self-closing gate and there are no objects around the fence that kids can step on to clime over to the other side. And, keep an eye on your kids at all times.
